Pacific Garden Mall, Santa Cruz

Downtown Santa Cruz is the heart of the city, filled with a wide range of boutiques, sidewalk cafés, over fifty restaurant choices, and an exciting nightlife with several music venues, cinema and live performances. Great place to people watch!

Santa Cruz: Seymour Marine Discovery Center at Long Marine Lab

Santa Cruz Surfing Museum at Lighthouse Field
Housed in the Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse, the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum traces over 100 years of surfing history as it relates to Santa Cruz. Visitors to the museum will enjoy a spectacular view of Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay while overlooking Steamer Lane, an internationally known surfing site. Museum displays include surf boards ranging from redwood “planks” to modern high-tech designs, early wetsuits, photographs showing Santa Cruz surfers and wave riding from the 1930s through today, continuous videos illustrating surfing’s ever-changing styles, and a gift shop with books, T-shirts, sweatshirts, posters, and more.

Historic Cannery Row, Monterey
Former site of sardine canning factories where John Steinbeck’s novel is set, Cannery Row is a major tourist attraction with many restaurants and hotels and a few historical attractions. The canneries failed after the collapse of the fishing industry in the Monterey Bay in the 1950’s. Today the area around Cannery Row is a marine sanctuary and is home to a large resurgent population of California sea lions.

Big Sur, Monterey
National Geographic Traveler listed Big Sur as one of the “50 Places of a Lifetime/The World’s Greatest Destinations” for its breath-taking vistas of the coast. About 2 hours from Davenport and 30 miles south of Carmel on Hwy 1.
Directions: Go south on Coast Rd, continue to follow CA-1 for 10.6 miles. Turn Slight LEFT onto CA-1 South. Continue through Monterey and Carmel to Big Sur.

Half Moon Bay

Half Moon Bay
A great day trip from the Roadhouse. Bike rental along paved beach trail, Pescadero for lunch, lots of beaches, whale watching, Pigeon Point Lighthouse, Horse Rentals, close to Maverick’s — is a world-famous surfing location one-half mile from shore in Pillar Point Harbor, just north of Half Moon Bay.
Directions: About 30 minutes north of Davenport Roadhouse on Hyw 1.

The Roadhouse offers wine tours from 11 to 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. If you are interested in a private wine tasting, please inquire with our manager on-duty. We feature local vineyards and makers as well as exceptional values found outside of our area.
